Foot/Ankle Pain

FEEL RELIEVED WITH OUR FOOT PAIN TREATMENT

Overview

Foot and ankle pain can be caused by a myriad of circumstances. Sometimes lifestyle factors can bring on foot or ankle pain, such as wearing high heels, being overweight or having to keep up with rigorous training. Unfortunately as we age, normal wear and tear of the ligaments and tendons located at the joints can lead to arthritis.

Arthritis

Arthritis is inflammation of one or more of your joints that can cause pain and stiffness in any joint in the body, even in the small joints of the foot and ankle.

There are more than 100 forms of arthritis, many of which affect the foot and ankle. All types can make it difficult to walk and perform activities you enjoy.

Although there is no cure, there are many treatment options available to slow the progression of the disease and relieve symptoms. With proper treatment, many patients are able to remain active, manage their pain and lead satisfying lives.

Plantar Fasciitis

Plantar fasciitis is a common cause of what is known as heel pain. This occurs when the strong band of tissue that supports the arch of your foot becomes irritated and inflamed, which can result in a stabbing pain under the foot. Upon walking, typically the pain subsides but may return after standing up for long periods. Pain can also reoccur after being sedentary for hours and returning to standing. This condition is common in people who are overweight, wear high heels or runners who go through rigorous training.
